The guitar repertoire consists of classical, jazz, blues and folk music. The Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) for guitar exams produce different levels of books from preliminary to Grade 6.
The set pieces are divided into 3 or 4 lists depending on the grade. Each list represents a different genre of music. Students choose one piece from each list for the AMEB exams so that a broad range of genres are developed with each grade.
For grades 7 to 8, you will need to refer to the AMEB syllabus for the requirements.
